Not Ashamed
Romans 1:16 NIV
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”
This world has always had those that oppose the Gospel of Jesus Christ, mostly because of the fact that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. Millions have died in the last two thousand years proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, witnessing, testifying, and shouting it from the house top that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He is the Messiah. A conservative figure is seventy million have died in the last two thousand years for Jesus as martyrs. As the world gets more evil and religions of other faith have become more violent against Christians the number will be staggering of those that will be martyred for Jesus. Still, Paul writes, as He is always done, under the threat of death that he is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Why? Because in that Gospel is the fact of who Jesus is and what He did for us. Paul says that the Gospel is the power of God to bring the lost to salvation, to saving faith in the Son of God. There is no way we are ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Evil may kill the body, but it will never kill the message. Do not be afraid to let our light shine for Jesus, we are the ones keeping light in this dark world.
Prayer:
Lord, strengthen our resolve to spread the Gospel no matter what the enemy may say or what he may do. In this Gospel is embodied the fact of what You Lord have done for us. You came to this earth to lead us back to the Father. You paid the price when You were beaten bruised spit upon and crucified on a cross. The enemy did not take Your life; You gave it willingly so that we could be reunited with the Father. Thank You for the price that You paid for our ransom Lord and our redemption. In Your name Lord Jesus we stand for You, Amen!
