Proverbs 18: 4 NKJV
“The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters. The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.”
The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters
Sometimes that can be good, sometimes that can be bad. In this proverb, do not be fooled, the deep waters of a person’s speech is not always good. Sometimes deep waters are hard to fathom.
I listened to a politician this morning that said a lot of words, but he did not say anything. Giving thought to our words is the best way to be effective. Giving deep thoughts still have to make sense.
The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook: If a person uses wisdom in their speech, which will include graciousness, that persons words will produce an affect on people that will invoke confidence. That kind of speech will produce peace, just like a flowing brook.
Prayer:
Lord, let my words be few, seasoned with salt, sweet to the taste, and meaningful for life.
