Let Me Hear of Your Steadfast Love
Psalms 143: 8 ESV
“Let me hear in the morning of Your steadfast love, for in You I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul.”
Sometimes we just need some good news. So, first thing each morning, we do our devotions to get some good news, or maybe a revelation or two, or possibly some good knowledge of God’s amazing character. We have enough bad news, but as Christians we can always find good news in God’s words.
David was asking God to let him hear of someone testify of the goodness, mercy and loving kindness of God, because he could trust in God when everyone may fail, God is always faithful.
Then David was asking for direction for the day, that is a thought we should all get behind, knowing God’s will for today. David added, “to You I lift up my soul.” David was saying that he was giving God his intellect, his thought process, his decision-making process. He was giving himself up to God so that God could direct his path for each new day.
Today, before your day begins, read some good news. Ask God to take your thoughts, hopes and dreams of the day and turn it over to Him. He has already made a plan for you today before you ever thought about today.
Prayer:
Lord, I empty myself today, so You can fill me up with Your goodness. Today, fill me with Your loving kindness. Show me some good news in Your word. Today, before I start my day, I give You my soul, my thoughts, my intellect, my hopes and dreams of the day. I give it all to You, show me the way I should go in Your perfect will. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
