The Lord Fights for Us

Exodus 14:23-25
“The Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.  And in the morning watch the Lord in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic, clogging their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from before Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”

Strange that the children of Israel went across the seabed on dry ground, but the Lord caused the Egyptians to get bogged down in the mud.

(1) The greatest revelation of this story is to watch God move the pillar of fire and the cloud to fight the enemy.

(2) The second greatest revelation is the admission from the Egyptians own mouths that God was fighting for Israel and against the Egyptians.

The NKJV Bible uses the phrase “fear not,” or “be not afraid,” over 100 times. That is a lot of times that the Father had to tell us to not be afraid, and He is still saying in our hearts and minds.

If the Lord can use the sea and the wind and the clouds to destroy the enemy, then imagine what He can use to fight our battles. God has unlimited power to keep us safe from harm. Trust Him!

Prayer:
Father, I can only imagine what it was like that night of great victory, but I hold this scene in my heart and mind as encouragement that You possess the power and ability to fight my battles and destroy my enemy. Lord I will trust in You, Amen!
