Psalms 119:105 ESV

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

The Word of God is like a torch or lamp in a dark night. It shows us the way; it prevents us from stumbling over obstacles, or failing down or wandering off into paths which would lead into danger.

If we make the Word of God our guide, and allow it to teach us, we will always see the better way. We will see where those by-roads turn off into wide paths that lead to destruction. We will be able to see those things that often trip us up..
