Good News

Proverbs 25:25 ESV

“Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.”

Lately it seems like the only news that we have received from a far is bad news; someone is ill, someone has graduated to heaven, someone is down. I want to know all of those things so I can pray for them and encourage them, I don’t know unless someone tells me typically.

But yesterday I received a praise report from a dear saint of God that God was healing her and visiting her in her small home. She said that the presence of the Lord was what she needed, and God filled her room and healed her body. That’s something to rejoice about.

This morning, I received good news from someone from a far that their cancer is in remission and that they are doing well. Suddenly, I felt a joy, a peace that could not be explained. So, what do I do with these praise reports? I rejoice with them and offer a thanksgiving of praise to our God. Our Father has healed a body and visited a friend in her need. He also lifted a life and encouraged a friend and his family.

If you have good news, share it with someone from a far or close for that matter. Let them know what God has done. If you only have news that things are not going as well as they could, share that as well, we need others to stand with us and pray. Then give God praise for all that He has done and will do in them and through them.

Prayer:

Lord, touch, help, heal, restore every heart and life this morning that are reading these words. Give them hope, give them encouragement, and give them peace. For those who are rejoicing this morning, I rejoice with them and praise our God for His bountiful blessings on His children. In Jesus name, Amen!
