Wisdom is Calling
Proverbs 1:20-22 ESV
“Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: “How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?”
Every day wisdom is offered, to everyone that wants it, but most people choose to stay with their own realm of thinking and not expand their minds. Some cannot because of cognitive reasoning, and I acknowledge them, and I understand. For everyone else, wisdom calls. Choices have to be made; deductive reasoning has to be worked out. Most people rely on their own intellect and go by gut feelings. While wisdom is just a split second away.
We have God in our lives. When we have to make choices and we have to think a process through, we can ask God, or seek godly counsel. For me, the Bible has been my way of getting through tough situations, seeking God in my daily life has become routine.
I haven’t always made the best choices at times, especially when I ran my own route, did things my way. Someone asked: “Why didn’t God stop you or why didn’t He remove the problem where you stumbled.” I answered, “God will allow me to make mistakes so I will trust Him more, seek godly advice, and pay attention to His Spirit inside of me more closely.”
I accept those times, even though they are hard. I accept them knowing the next time, I will hear wisdom calling. I will look to Him the author and finisher of my faith.
Prayer:
Father, wisdom is calling. I know You have been trying to teach Your people for thousands of years to seek Your counsel, listen to Your wisdom, follow Your Spirit. But for thousands of years, mankind has followed their flesh, for the most part. Forgive us Lord God. Give us wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Give us insight and direction. In Your mighty name, Amen!
