In the Beginning
Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
There are many good and strong philosophical and logical reasons to believe in God. The Bible does not make elaborate arguments for the existence of God, it doesn’t have too. The Bible tells us we can know God exists because of what we see in the created world.
Psalms 19:1-4 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.”
Romans 1:20 says, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.”
The God big enough to have created the heavens and the earth is big enough to do all the rest the Bible says that He did and does. So, as we read and see for ourselves the evidence that, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
One of my college professors said the first day of classes, “Creationism is not a viable theory.” In my head I said, “No, it is not a theory, it is a fact, and it can be seen and proved by the things that exist.
Prayer:
Father, nothing has to be proved to me about Your existence. I don’t have to stretch my faith to believe in You. Your handiwork is evidence, Your Spirit in me and around me is evidence. The peace I have in my heart and mind are clear evidence of Your existence!
