The Lord Sees

Psalms 37:18-19 AMP

“The Lord knows the days of the blameless, And their inheritance will continue forever. They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine they will have plenty and be satisfied.”

The Lord is always watching and is aware of our circumstances, nothing gets by Him. He is never shocked by our predicaments. In fact, if we are attentive to God and lean on Him, He will guide us through circumstances and make us better on the other side of life’s challenges. So, why doesn’t He just stop those circumstances from happening in the first place?

We are free and moral agents; we get to make up our own minds. God knows that we learn best when we are challenged. We may not always agree with that statement, but if we have watched human nature in the last ten thousand years, we see that in times of plenty, humans get lax or lazy  and in times of challenge many will rise to the occasion to meet their challenge, and they come out stronger and more fulfilled.

We don’t like to think that way, but history does repeat itself especially when lessons have not been learned.

As for the righteous, those who seek after God continually, their inheritance is always guaranteed. Yes, God provides a way even if we do not see a way. David says, “They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they will have plenty and be satisfied.”

We were poor growing up and we had a large family, six boys, but you know what that large family was able to do? Plant large gardens and have livestock. We never went hungry, God always provided for our needs. I always had clothes to wear and shoes on my feet. Some may look at in the natural and say that we sustained ourselves. No, I see it as God supplied my mom and dad with six great workers to get us through life with great abundance and in the process gave us abilities to provide for our own families. God saw, God provided.

Prayer:

Lord, You are an abundant God, You have always supplied for our needs according to your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Sometimes we did not know where help was going to come from, but You always abundantly supplied. To You Lord I am forever grateful, Amen!
