Your Word Illuminates My Way
Psalms 119:104-106 NLT
“Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.”
I am convinced more than ever that the true Christians who adhere to God’s words continually have the real understanding of what life is all about.. They possess the ability to live life to its fullest potential.
Let me give a rough analogy; in most sports, there will be referees or judges in order to keep the games safe and fair. A judge or referee will make sure the pathway to victory for either team is legitimate. But these judges or referees are subject to outside forces. They will not always be fair or just but they are there to keep the games legitimate according to the rules.
God is infallible, He is not influenced by outside forces. He alone is just, fair and perfect with His laws, commandments and precepts. If we adhere and uphold God’s Words as our source of strength, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
His Words will illuminate the way we are supposed to go. It is not like a flashlight that we control to shine on the way we want to go, His Words are the light we FOLLOW so we know where to go, which way to turn, when to stop, and when to speed up.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being my Supreme Authority. Thank You for the the illuminating light of Your word. “I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey Your righteous regulations.”
