Never Forget

Psalms 135:13-14 ESV
“Your name, O Lord, endures forever, your renown, O Lord, throughout all ages. For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.”

There are three things in this Psalm that need to be remembered.

1) Remember what God has done, past, present.

God made a special point to Israel that the past victories or blessings should always be remembered with celebration, such as Hanukkah, Passover, Puram and many more.

We should do the same with the victories in our life. Never forget what God has done or is doing. We need to in fact remind God for what He has done for us or is in the process of doing for us now.

For example, all of our children are not serving the Lord, so I say, Lord, we have raised our children in the Lord and Your word says, “Train up a child in the way he (or she) should go;  even when he (or she) is old he (or she) will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 ESV). So, today I thank You that all of our children are coming back home to trust and believe in You.

2) The God of all things will be our vindication.

Vindication is good, but it can only come after something bad, like being accused of something you didn’t do. When we have been wronged, or we have been falsely treated, or falsely accused, God is our vindication.

Romans 8:33 says, “Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies…” God will right the wrongs of any railing accusation against His people

3) God’s compassion toward us is extreme!

Who else believes in us no matter what we have done? Only God. Who else pardons with no questions asked, just a repentant heart? Only God. Who else keeps a watch over our heart and life? Only God. Who else delivers, restores, and rebuilds our lives, sometimes daily? Only God!

Prayer:
Lord God, thank You for always being there for us, Thank You for what You have done and are still doing in our lives. Thank You for Your vindication. Who can bring an accusation against us that You do not vindicate us? Thank You for Your extreme passion and compassion towards us. You alone are our God! In Your mighty name, Amen!
