Titus 3: 5-6

“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior…”

Mercy- a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion, compassionate treatment of those in distress. Paul states that mercy is the action that was placed on each of us, not because of any other reason than the fact that God is a merciful, loving, compassionate God. Not because we are good enough or because we are righteous, but just because He loves us. The price for this mercy? The life of His Son Jesus Christ and the regeneration process from God’s Holy Spirit.
