Let Me Hear of You
Psalm 143:8 (ESV)
“Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.”
I typically wake up in the morning with some Christian song playing in my head. Why do I think this happens? As I am doing my personal devotions in the morning and as I sit at the computer writing devotions, I turn on praise and worship music and that is what gets into my mind and spirit. There is a lot of noise in this world, on the radio, television, and mindless chatter in the marketplace. To wash all that out, I get some good Christian music in me on the radio in my truck or at my computer, in order to get some fresh word in my heart and mind. At times I will listen to scripture on the computer, or as I have found lately a site that has taken the Psalms of David and put them to music. So, to let me hear in the morning of God’s steadfast love, I seek His words. The results are, God reveals His path for me. I have agendas for each day, but those agendas mean nothing or accomplish nothing without God ordering my footsteps.
Prayer:
Lord, this morning, let us hear of Your steadfast love. Make our paths straight, raise up every valley, and bring down every mountain, and bring us into Your presence where there is fullness of joy. Teach us, lead us, direct us in the way that we should go today. Make our way prosperous in and through You. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
