Season of Love and Hope
1 John 4:9-10 ESV
“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation (giving us Divine favor from God) for our sins.”
This Christmas season is a season where we celebrate the Christ child, but it is also a celebration of God’s love and favor for mankind. We didn’t do anything to deserve God’s love, He gave it to us freely. It was not out of pity or just wanting to grant us some good will. His love reaches every person and the entire universe.
Paul said in Romans 8:38-39, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God’s love took us from our past and gave us all the ability of a bright future. No one knows what tomorrow holds, but if we are walking in God’s love ultimately our future is bright because we will be with Him forever. We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but nothing, NOTHING, can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Prayer:
Father, this is the season of hope, and we have a lot of people in our lives that seem to be hanging on by a thread of hope. Reach down right now and give them Your hand of mercy, give them the hope and assurance that they need. As You gave us Your only Son, through Him You gave us all of Your love with Him. Today, Father, give us and our people hope and assurance in Your love, Amen!
