He Will Speak My Words
Deuteronomy 18:18 ESV
“I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.”
This prophecy of the coming Messiah was from God through Moses to the Children of Israel. The Messiah, Jesus would come and speak all that His Father gave Him to speak.
The fulfillment of this prophecy: Jesus said in John 12:48-50 “The one who rejects Me and does not receive My words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority, but the Father who sent Me has Himself given Me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told Me.”
The Messiah that we celebrate this Christmas, has the words of eternal life, words of strength, power, healing, restoration, and peace. Before the baby was born, it was all set in motion. Even before Mary conceived, the Christ Child was full of the Holy Spirit.
It Would take 30 years for Him to speak all that God has given Him. But the words that He spoke will last forever, bring health and healing and restoration forever. Every time we read or hear His words, He is speaking strength and healing to us.
Prayer:
Father, only You have the words of eternal life. This Christmas season, may my gift from You be listening ears and a perceiving heart to absorb all you have for me.
