Jesus Wonderful Counselor

Isaiah 9:6 ESV
“For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor…”

If its not enough that God gave us His only Son to be our Wonderful Counselor, If it wasn’t enough that He sent Gabriel to herald in the coming of the Wonderful Counselor, If it wasn’t enough that God spoke audibly at Jesus Baptism and said “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Then let me give you some of Jesus’s wise counsel in His words. “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles (none believers) seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,  and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 625,31-33 ESV)

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 NIV)

“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
(Mattbew 23:12 NIV)

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
(Mark 11:24-25 NIV)

“For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
(Matthew 12:50 NIV))

There is much much more but this is just a taste of His wise counsel.

Lord, when I’m afraid, You are there. When I feel alone, You are there. When I’m lost, you lead me to still waters. When I’m anxious You calm my storm!
