Shout Allowed God’s Marvelous Deeds
Psalms 9:1 AMP
“I will give thanks and praise the Lord, with all my heart; I will tell aloud all Your wonders and marvelous deeds.”
It’s great to ponder in our hearts what God means to us, that’s important. Positive self talk is even better. Positive self talk is a form of meditation. When we think of meditation we often think of other religions and cults, but meditation is just allowing the thoughts of God to roll over and over again in our minds.
David said, “My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise.(Psalms119:148) He also said, “Blessed is the man who(se)…delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalms 1:1a,2 ESV
Why is this meditation so crucial for you and me? Because it is our source of strength and power. For us, positive self talk is meditating on who God is, what He has done and what we know He will do. Meditating on God’s goodness chases away negative thinking, and most of us have too much negativity in our lives.
Even singing worship or praise songs about God’s goodness and His promises chases away the dark thoughts that plague us. Go one more step further and tell someone of the goodness of God in our lives. Shout it out, let the world know we serve the God of love, hope, and peace.
Prayer:
Lord, you have given me so many promises in Your Word. Help me to dwell, meditate, and ponder on that when I’m alone. But when I’m in the company of others, give me boldness to proclaim who You are, what You have done, and what You will do!
