God Is Trustworthy
Proverbs 30:5 ESV
“Every word of God proves true (flawless, trustworthy, reliable); He is a shield (no one can get to you without God’s knowledge of it) to those who take refuge (comfort, rest, protection, a hiding place) in Him.”
Every word of God, every declaration, revelation, every instruction, every word is infallible, trustworthy, reliable, factual. Every single word is flawless, perfect, direct, sincere and must be taken as the very breath of God. There is not the slightest hint of falsehood, corruption, or deficiency in it. Those that say that there are discrepancies or inconsistencies are taking His words out of context.
The writer of Hebrews said, “For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 AMP).”
So, the next statement in today’s passage holds true as well; “Every word of God proves true; (So) He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.”
If we believe that every word of God is true and trustworthy, God will be a shield to us.
Prayer:
Lord, I believe in Your infallible words. They are life, health, healing, and restoration for me. Your words bring me comfort and peace. Your words are life. Thank You for Your trustworthy words that protect me because they are hid in my heart, Amen!
