Isaiah 43:2 ESV
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”

Face it, we typically want God to just remove all the problems and trials that we face. But life is about tough times. Tough times gives us character and makes us stronger. We learn some of the most valuable lessons during tough times.

It’s not as though we didn’t know that we would have tough times. Jesus told us that there would be tribulations, (great troubles). (John 16:33) God does not remove every trouble, but He promises to be right there with us when we go through every them.

God said, when we pass through the waters, He is going to be right there in the water with us. He will be with us in the midst of a flood of discomforts. Tough times? He is right there beside us. Overwhelming situations? They will not overwhelm us because He is by our side. In the all consuming fires that we have to face? They will not consume us, He is there.

Just like the Son of God was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace. They did get burned; “The hair of their heads was not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them.” (Daniel 3:27)

Prayer:
Father, I know most of the time I don’t want the troubles and trials, but I find great comfort in knowing that you are with me every single time I face difficulties in this life. You will bring me through every time without being overwhelmed or consumed.
