Praise God in the Middle of the Pain
Psalms 100:3-4 ESV
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name! For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.”
We typically have a complaint list or a fix it lists for God, but God already knows what is going on in our lives. We will still ask God to help us and heal us, and correct some things in our lives. What we should do is begin our time with God with maybe some music, maybe a song a cappella, maybe words of love and adoration for God even if we are going through troubled times. Praise will lift us and bring God adoration.
David was not afraid to give God a list of complaints at times but he also knew how to worship the Lord in music, in words and in song. David had a unique relationship with God. David knew that it was important to praise, worship and bring God adoration and thanksgiving often.
Judah at a time of adversity began to sing and praise, and God set up an ambush to destroy the enemy. “As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.” (2 Chronicles 20:22)
Today, enter His courts with praise and adoration. Bless the Lord even if we do not feel like it. Let it be a sacrifice of praise to our God for He is good, His endless love endures forever.
Prayer:
I worship You mighty God, I praise You with my whole heart. What can the enemy do to me when You are on my side. Even in the face of adversity, pain and sorrow, I stand and give You praise, glory and honor. You are my God, in You I trust, Amen!
