Blessed Beyond Measure
Psalms 9:1 ESV
“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.”
If we sat down and tried to remember all the blessings of God in our lifetime, we would not be able to remember them all and some blessings we don’t recognize as blessings from God, we just think it was good luck. I speak respectfully but boldly, it wasn’t good luck, it was the hand of God!
As children we didn’t have much, but we were never hungry, and we always had clothes to wear. I grew up in a Christian home. I grew up with both a mom and dad in my life. My five brothers looked after me as the youngest child and kept me safe. I remember as a five year old child being saved by my brother from a poisonous snake.
As a teenager I went to work early but I had good schools and a good job. I had abundant friends. I was kept safe in a couple of car accidents. I had money to buy clothes, shoes and of course a car.
At nineteen I received a gift from God that changed the way I read and understood the Bible forever, that gift gets better and better each day. As an adult even though I made some dumb decisions God protected me from harm.
At thirty I married the love of my life and in the union, God created miracle after miracle in our lives. We have a great home, a great ministry, a great business and I watch God do miracles in our lives every day. I consider every day that I wake up a miracle. I travel typically one hundred miles a day for work, and I consider it a miracle when I make it home safely.
I say with David, “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.”
Prayer:
Lord, I cannot remember everything that You have done for me and my wife and family but for 67 years of blessings, thank You! I will never stop thanking You with my whole heart for all that You have done, whether I recognized every miracle or not. I thank You for every miracle, every day, every blessing, every promise. In Your name Lord Jesus, I praise You, Amen!
