Deliver Us from Evil
Acts 12: 1-3, 5 ESV
“About that time Herod (Agrippa 1) the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. He killed James the brother of John with the sword, and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also… So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest (reaching, stretching out to God) prayer for him was made to God by the church.”
Satan thought he won when Jesus was killed on the cross. Jesus gave His life for you and me, and then He rose from the grave to defeat death, hell and the grave once and for all.
Satan tried to persecute the New Testament church with Saul as the henchman, but this just spread the gospel faster and to places never thought possible.
Satan tried to divide the New Testament church with prejudice, but God chose first Peter and then Paul to cross over boundaries and bring the gospel to the Gentiles as well.
Satan tried to stop the church by killing the Apostle James, but this brought the church together.
Satan tried to stop the church again by attempting to kill Peter, but the church prayed and God delivered Peter from his bonds.
Satan is still trying to divide, especially America, what we have to do is bind together and pray and we will see the mighty hand of God deliver America.
Prayer:
Father, let my prayers bind together with the Saints prayers across America. Deliver us from evil, for Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen!
