Be Prepared

1 Peter 3:15b

“…Always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

We have come to the age in our country, and the world quite frankly, where people are against Christianity. We have to be prepared in case someone asks us why we believe the way we believe.

I can assure you I have faced many who have told me why they do not believe in God or in Jesus His Son. They were well prepared with their defense, it seemed that they rehearsed there response many times. 

Many think we are crazy for believing in someone we cannot see, based on a book that was written thousands of years ago. So in honor to our King, we should be prepared to tell people why we believe in Jesus and why we believe there is a God.

The Bible is one of my major reasons for believing in God the Father and the Son. The Bible gave me immense understanding of why God wanted a relationship with mankind. Through that book, I found, peace, joy, understanding, hope and I know I have a future with Him forever. Through the Bible I found out who God was, why I needed the Holy Spirit, and what my Savior did for me.

Why do I believe in Jesus? Just to name a few things;

I have peace through Jesus that I did not have from the world.

In Jesus I found a hope, and a joy that the world cannot give.

Through Jesus, I have found meaning in this life, why I was created, why I am here and where I am going after this life is over.

In Jesus I found someone greater than I am that loves me unconditionally, the world can’t even copy that.

In Jesus I have found someone who accepts me like I am, and He is continuously bringing me up higher.

In Jesus I have found a love of a Savior that was willing to die for me that I could live through Him.

In Jesus I found someone that warns me of stumbling blocks and orders my footsteps for every day.

In Jesus I found someone that when I make mistakes, He forgives, forgets, and picks me up and sets me on my path.

In Jesus I found someone that walks with me through the dark valleys and rough places in this life… just to name a few.

Prayer:

Lord, never let me stumble or stammer when someone asks me why I believe in You. As a matter of fact, anoint me to be bold and very specific in why I believe in You, In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
