Where is Your Faith

Mark 5:25-25-27, 30, 33-34
“And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.

She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment.   And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, “Who touched my garments?”

But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.  And he said to her “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

This woman in great distress and agony, acted in desperation to get her healing. 1) She realized her state, she was without hope, broke, suffering, and desperate for healing.

2) She was told about Jesus, and she listened. 3) She believed in Jesus. 4) She got up, with a made-up mind, no matter how she felt and went to Jesus. 5) She determined that she was not going to be rejected, 6) so she persevered and pressed into Jesus.

Immediate relief of pain was her reward. Jesus said to her, “your faith (sureness) (in her belief, her actions, her self-words and in her deeds) has made you well. Then Jesus said, go in peace (calm down, you are safe with me), and be healed of your disease. The original Greek says, “you are sound, and this scourge (disease) is out of you.

If this account has taught me anything, it has taught me to realize the state I’m in. I know about Jesus, I believe what Jesus has said, I press into Jesus and I ask. Then I begin to praise Him because I know He cares.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I don’t know how, and I don’t know when, but I will be healed. Forgetting about myself and what I think I deserve or don’t deserve, I’ve asked, I will praise You, for the answers on the way. In Your faithful name Lord Jesus, Amen!
