Turned Around 180 Degrees

Acts 8:17b-19 ESV
“Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”  And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized; and taking food, he was strengthened.”

Saul was blinded by the light from Jesus on the road to Damascus. I’m sure Saul did not know what to make of the fact that Jesus was indeed the Son of God, but this time of blindness gave him 3 days to consider the path he was on, because the path that he had been on was NOT of God.

You could say that Saul had been weighed in the balance and found wanting (Daniel 5:27). Saul had 3 days, which he chose to fast and pray (wise choice) and soon the answer would come to Saul.

When Ananias came to Saul, he prayed for his sight (both physical and spiritual) and Saul was healed, saved and filled with the Spirit all at once. They took him to be baptized and immediately Saul was in the service of the Lord.

Saul was turned 180 degrees in a matter of 3 days. He went from persecuting the Christ to witnessing for the Christ. Now that is a transformation!

Prayer:
Father, You saved us, forgave us, turned us around, 180 degrees. You healed us restored us and gave us a new life in Jesus. You did not save us to sit on the couch and watch TV, you saved us to be salt and light to the world!
