Teach Me Your Ways Lord

Psalms 25:4

“Show me Your ways, Lord, teach me Your paths.”

If we pray this prayer with David, we have to follow through on our part. If we ask God to show us His ways, He will gladly show us His character, His love and mercy and reveal to us his plans.

What we read in the Bible makes sense when we put the information together, but most people do not read the Bible to put all the information together in a comprehensive plan. With God’s plans are thousands of small parts and pieces of how to keep God in our life and to live life successfully.

David asked for God to teach him God’s path. This is an overall path, not our individual paths within God’s path. Let me explain. We are all heading down God’s path, within that path He gave me a path to follow for my life, family and ministry. He gave you a path for your life, family and what you are to do for God.

When we ask God to show us His ways, it cannot be haphazard, it cannot be without thought or comprehension of what God is about to reveal to us, it has to be something that we seek as if we were looking for a hidden sack of gold.

When we ask God to reveal to us His pathway, we are asking as if it were His GPS, step by step instructions of what to do, where to go, who to marry, who to get into business with, pitfalls to sidestep, business deals to run from, friends to have, and what church to attend.

Prayer:

Lord, show us Your ways, and we will pay extreme attention to what You reveal. Teach us Your pathways so we know the correct directions and teach us what You want for our personal pathways. For that is the only way to be successful in this life and the life to come. In Your name we sincerely ask, Amen!
