Isaiah 30:18 ESV
“Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore He exalts Himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice…”
Many Christians lay burdens upon themselves and struggle more than they have to. They do not accept that God’s desire is to help and heal and show mercy. Some people just don’t feel they deserve it because of past sins.
We feel like we can manage our lives and fix our own messes. Then we come to the point where we desperately need God? God offers grace to us, whom He purposely created to need this grace. It’s more than favor; it’s what we need to get through every moment of every day.
With each stumbling block this world throws at us, God’s grace gives us the strength and determination to rise again. This is dependence on a Holy God and we belong in His Kingdom.
This verse brings grace and compassion together as a unit. It’s God’s great longing and desire to show us His true intentions toward us. He created us to need and depend on Him and Him alone and in doing so He knows better than we, how much we need His grace and compassion.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for waiting to be gracious to me, even though I may not feel worthy, You say I am worthy.
