Romans 7:18-20 ERV
“…nothing good lives in the part of me that is not spiritual. I want to do what is good, but I don’t do it. I don’t do the good that I want to do. I do the evil that I don’t want to do. So if I do what I don’t want to do, then I am not really the one doing it. It is the sin living in me that does it.”
Have you ever acted so badly and regretted it so much that you wish you could have a “do over?” That is the sinful nature coming out. We always want to do right thing and say the right thing but in a moment of weakness we act badly. Or we say something that we can’t be taken back because every idle word is perpetual.
The Spirit of God in us has to become stronger. The flesh has to be subdued. The only way that can happen is to realize Jesus is alive within us, we just have to let Him out in every situation before the flesh can raise up it’s ugly head.
