Who We Are with an Anointing
Philippians 3:8a,9 ESV
“Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith.”
What we bring to Christ when we accept Him as lord and Savior pales to the fact of what we gain in Christ. Know that all of our wisdom and knowledge and our character is thrown out the window. Know, in fact He uses our life experiences for His glory and to bring Him glory.
He enhances who we were, makes us into His image, sets His seal on us and fills us with the Holy Spirit. We do not become as robots without free thinking, He brings us in and washes away the dross, the impurities, the pains and the sorrows and gives a hope and a future and an anointing and an appointing. Like He did with every person that wrote the Bible for us. He used their personalities and characteristics to write in their style but with the anointing of the Holy Spirit to convey to each of us the truths of God.
When we look back on who we were before Christianity, we are the same person, just now washed clean by the blood of Jesus with a special anointing of the Holy Spirit to influence people for the cause of Christ.
Prayer:
Thank You Lord for rescuing us. Thank You that You took what little good we were as persons, and are making us to be the best version of ourselves. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
