The Love of God
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.”
This morning as I read this verse, I had three thoughts; I love the thought of God being close to me, I cherish that. I love the thought of God rejoicing over me and singing loud over me. That may be the reason I get great Christian songs and hymns stuck in my head and they stay there all day and through the night hours lifting my spirit. The third thing that attracted me to this verse this morning is “He will quiet you by His love.” There are many times that I need those quiet times and those quiet moments with God. Away from the noise, away from my thoughts and away from the craziness that the world brings. This also means that He does not remember any of my past sins. No, He said that He cast my sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalms 103:12) and that He casts my sins in the depth of the sea Micah 7:19). I’m thankful this morning for a loving, forgiving, all knowing God that knows what I need and when I need it.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the times of solitude and rest. Thank You for forgiveness and past failures. Thank You for future hopes and dreams. Thank You for singing and rejoicing over me with loud singing, I need that! In Your name Lord, Amen!
