Revelations 21:4 ESV
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Jesus told the Apostle John to write down the things that he heard and saw, which is the book of Revelations. At the end of the Revelations as Jesus tells the apostle John of things to come, he shows him the new heaven and the new Earth and the New Jerusalem that’s coming down from the sky.
The new Jerusalem where Jesus will once and forever sit on the throne and rule forever and ever. At that time Jesus tells the apostle John this scripture that we’re looking at today; He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
I know most of you have had loved ones that have gone on before us, but take heart, we will see them again and most importantly we will see Jesus forever. Life will be better than we can ever imagine as the song says, “I can only imagine!” And as an old hymn says, “There will be no more parting over there!”
Prayer:
Father, comfort those who have lost a loved one, the pain is real as You know. Heal the hurt, bring peace to their hearts, minds and spirits.
