Teach Us to Pray
Luke 11:1, Matthew 6:9-13
“…Lord, teach us to pray…”
“Pray then like this: (or use this prayer as a pattern of how to pray) “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” (Praise and adoration)
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Asking God for His perfect will in our lives)
“Give us this day our daily bread…” (Pray for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for today and for God to provide the things that we need.)
“…forgive us our debts, AS we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Ask for forgiveness but also understand, that forgiveness from God is directly tied to our willingness to forgive others that have wronged us.)
“…lead us not into temptation…” (Lead us away from temptation)
“…deliver us from evil.” (Asking for divine protection. Put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:14-17)
Prayer:
Lord, I praise You this morning, I thank You for who You are and what You mean to me, I ask that Your perfect will would be done in me and my family and those who I love and hold dear. I ask for guidance, direction. I ask for wisdom, knowledge and understanding and for healing.
Forgive me of my shortcomings and teach me to learn the art of forgiving others. Let me see temptations from afar and avoid them like the plague. Protect us today like only You can, Amen!
