1 Peter 3:21-22 ESV
“…Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God,  with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.”

After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, he appeared to his disciples for 40 days, still teaching, training and getting them ready for the infilling of the Holy Spirit which would give them power to be affective witnesses of all that they had seen and heard.

He was then received into the heavens where He sat down at the right hand of God. He said He would go prepare a place of glory for us and will come again, and take us to himself, to be forever with him. When He sat down by God,, all authority in heaven and on earth were given to Him forever. There He also takes on the form of High Priest and He makes intercession for you and me continuously.
