Heritage
Psalms 37:18-19 ESV
“The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will remain forever; they are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine they have abundance.”
One thing that I continually pray for is that I leave a legacy, a heritage for my children and grandchildren to follow. A legacy that my friends, brothers and sisters in the Lord will always remember of how important it is to follow the Lord.
I pray that the things that I have said, the things that I have written, will bring thousands of souls to the kingdom of God. I pray the message of the cross will go on for generations, not to remember me, but to remember God is all that matters.
We should be concerned with the heritage that we leave. Not in riches or goods, but how we have lived our lives for the Lord, especially in these days of evil and uproar. Also, David says that our heritage should be that we had more than enough even when there were troubled times, times of much lack.
David said in Psalms 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” When God is our Shepherd, we will not be in want for anything, we will have what we need.
Prayer:
Lord, make our heritage to our family, children, grandchildren, friends, church family, and acquaintances be a lasting legacy. A legacy that we have followed You wholeheartedly. We sought You daily, we listened and followed You. We read Your words and obeyed. In Your mighty name Jehovah Jireh, our provider we ask, Amen!
