Psalms 3:3 ESV
“But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.”

No matter where we are, no matter what we are going through, God is not merely standing on the sidelines watching. David said that God is a shield (protection from the fiery arrows of the enemy). Secondly God is our glory. If He is the one we glorify, He will also bring us glory or honor.

When someone is down depressed, discouraged they typically drop their face to the ground. God lifts us out of discouragement, by lifting our heads in honor letting us know He is for us when everything else seems to be against us.
