Hope

Micah 7:7

“But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.”

We have a hope! Often times we cannot see the hope because of everything that is going on in our lives. Paul said, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” There is always hope. The only way that hope can be gone, is if we give up.

I heard a minister one time say that his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, they gave her no hope of recovery. She went home, cried for a while and then began to pray with a determination. She believed that her time was not up. She believed that God was going to heal her perfectly or give her a ultimate healing by taking her home to be with Him, either way, she was ready. Hope was reborn in her life when she did not die when the doctors said she was going to die. She went on to live for forty-five more years. The doctors gave her weeks to live at 42.

We have no idea what tomorrow holds, but we do have hope. We have Jesus, the Master of the universe. I choose to wait on God. When I fall, I will arise, when I sit in darkness, Jesus is my light and my salvation.

Prayer:

Lord, there is always hope. We choose to wait on You this morning. We choose to stand and say we shall not be moved. Though we may be hard pressed on every side, we are not crushed. Though we may be perplexed, we are not in despair (the complete loss of hope). We may be persecuted Lord, but we are certainly not abandoned. We may feel as though we have been struck down, but through Your strength, we are not destroyed. We wait on You Lord, You are our hope, Amen!
