1 Peter 3:18-21 EDV
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit…”
In this passage, Peter explains to his converts in Asia minor that Christ suffered once for all of their sins. The persecution that they are about to endure under Nero is not for sins, the suffering they will have will be because they were made righteous by Jesus.
The enemy will stop at nothing to try and make us renounce Christ. They will ridicule, mock, and make us suffer for our decisions, but the enemies eternal fate will be everlasting torment. For the Christians, everlasting peace and contentment.
