An Answer to a Need
Genesis 22:13 ESV
“And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.”
This was an answer in Abraham’s time of testing. We don’t always know about these times of testing work. Not everything that happens negatively in our lives is a time of testing of course, but every time of testing shows who we really are, to ourselves, and the Lord. Yes, He already knows what we are made of, but often He has to show us, our own capabilities.
In this time of testing, Abraham was passing the test with flying colors. We have to understand, Abraham believed God was going to see him through no matter what happened. That characteristic is rare but rewarding. Abraham was following through without any reservation, whatsoever. Then The Lord provided the real sacrifice. Understand what I just said. Abraham believed God, he obeyed God, he was uninhibited to follow God’s request to the tee and God provided.
Prayer:
Lord, to have this kind of confidence in You is rare, to have this kind of faith in You is almost unheard of. To follow through uninhibited exactly as You ask us too, is amazing. Give us this kind of resolve Lord, please. In your name Lord, Amen!
