Don’t Worry About Tomorrow
Matthew 6:34 ESV
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
This verse suggests that problems will naturally arise and need addressing when they come, they cannot be solved prematurely. Each day presents enough real problems and tasks to handle, so worrying about future ones is an unnecessary burden that distracts us from the present. This verse is not saying not to plan ahead, it just warns us not to worry about things that have not come up yet. Take care of today’s issues with God’s guidance, tomorrow is only known by God, He will supply the wisdom then. Focus on today’s responsibilities and don’t let hypothetical future problems overwhelm us.
Prayer:
Lord, we all fall into this trap. The evil one comes in and plants disturbances and problems in our way and our natural tendencies is to try and solve them on our own. You were not surprised by any issues in our lives, You knew they were coming before they happened. I believe You give us wisdom for every situation. Also, Lord, don’t allow us to get bogged down fretting about what has not happened yet. Help us to trust you for today and for tomorrow. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
