God Rescues
Psalms 50:14-15 ESV
“Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”
There are 5 steps in these two verses that show us how God’s rescue works.
1) thanking God as a sacrifice of praise. How does that work? We offer God praise, adoration and thanksgiving whether we get what we need or we are still waiting for what we need.
2) “…keep the vows you made to the Most High (God).” In times of plenty when we said we would do anything God asked of us, or when we found ourselves in a pickle and we vowed to do anything for God if He would deliver us.
3) “…call on Me when you are in trouble…” Trust God, let go and just trust that He has our best interest at heart all the time and in any circumstance.
4) “…I will rescue you…” praise Him, pay our vows, and trust…God will rescue.
5) And when God rescues us, we will stop and say “God did this”.
Not the medicine necessarily and not the doctors, necessarily, not the universe, not good luck and not our own wit and wisdom, but God did this.
Prayer:
Father, I owe everything to You, my heart, my life, my mind and my body as a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1) I give You the glory and the honor You deserve!
