He Fills the Hungry Soul

Psalms 107:4-9 ESV
“Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.  Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle…for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

Doesn’t this image fit a lot of people? The good news for those who are wondering, the wondering can be over. The last verse says, “He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” This is not about those who are looking for a temporary fix, those who are looking for a little peace, but for those who are hungry and thirsty for something that is eternal, something that will bring eternal peace, now and forever.

This is not a message about people that do not have money or riches, this is not about people that cannot find a warm shelter such as the homeless. This is about people that are searching for everlasting hope. People that want a change that will put them on a path of victory every day of their lives. This is for people that need to see with eyes of hope and want a way out of the same old grind, day after day.

When we seek the Lord with our whole heart, we begin to see with fresh vision, we see a ray of light leading us to the path that God has always intended for us to be on. “He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” That can be you today, seek Him!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, draw us to You. In our wondering, lead us by Your right hand that we will find true peace, true satisfaction, true joy. Fill us with good things, for we hunger and thirst for the things of our Father God. In Your Righteous name we ask, Amen!
