Sometimes We Just Have to Praise Him!

Psalms 34:1,3 ESV

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”

Sometimes we come to the point in our lives where we may not understand all things. We may not understand circumstances that come our way. We may not understand wayward children or grandchildren. We may not understand sickness, diseases and death.

Here on this earth, we are placed with tasks to fulfill. We have been given His commands, and we carry out His plan. We as Christians raise our families to the best of our abilities. We may not get it right all the time, but nevertheless we give it our best. We make ready for our King; we accomplish His tasks to the best of our abilities. Still, this is not our home; we are just sojourners here on this earth, we belong to be with God.

So, as the old song goes, “In times like these, we need a Savior…” We call on Him and ask that His will be done in us and in our families lives and we just trust Him. We keep moving forward. As I have told thousands of people over forty plus years, when things do not make sense, just praise Him. Let some good Christian music fill our hearts and just praise Him. Sit down, kneel down, stand up or whatever and just praise Him anyway.

Brandon Lake wrote a song that says in the first verse:

“Sometimes you’ve gotta dance through the darkness

Sing through the fire

Praise when it don’t make sense

Sometimes you’ve gotta stare down the giant

Worship from the lion’s den…” (Praise You Anywhere)

Prayer:

God, we know that You see us, You hear us, and You are moving mountains for us. Often, we can’t see those mountains move. So we are going to just praise in our hearts, praise in our songs, praise with our mouths and exalt You even if it is in the Lion’s den, even when things don’t make sense. In Your name Most High Father, Amen!
