Happy New Year

Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”

Today we open up a new chapter in our lives. What we did or did not do in 2023 is set in history. Today, this year of 2024, is brand new. No one has ever seen this year except God. What a marvelous revelation.

Since God is the only one that has seen this year in its entirety, should we not trust God with every minute, and every day, and every month? He knows exactly what will happen every minute of every day this year and how and why everything happens.

As this new chapter unfolds, I feel compelled to ask God, since He has already seen this year, to bless and protect my wife, my children, and my friends. To blessand protect the church as a whole, our freedom, our country, and our world.

I feel compelled to ask Him to use me and my wife in greater ways for His glory. Excited doesn’t even cover what I feel now about this year. I am expecting exactly what these verses of scripture are describing.

This passage was given to Israel coming out of captivity. So, coming out of 2023, with all of its ups and downs I pray. Father, I thank you that you have a plan for us this year, plans for welfare and peace and protection from evil. Father, the pitfalls of 2023 are over, that chapter is closed, I press on. I accept from You Father, a future and great hope for this year.

I will seek You this year Father, I will call upon Your name, I will cry out to You and stand in the gap for my family, my friends, my nation. Father God, I will seek You this year with my whole heart. Help me to fulfill my vow to You! AMEN!
